This newsgroup is read by parents, siblings, etc, of people with Down syndrome all over the world. It's a great place to find out more and to ask questions. I highly recommend it.

Pam has a child with DS, and she has a FAQ just for new parents. She can also tell you about the AOL Down syndrome group. They have several chats each week about life with a person with Down syndrome. It's worth getting aol just so you can join the group!

Check out Miranda's web page for links to pages about Down syndrome. http://www.math.ohio-state.edu/~landeck/miranda.html (All lowercase is important)

The National Down Syndrome Society 1-800-221-4602

Contact both of these places for a listing of local parent support groups (wonderful!), and for their new parent packs, with lots of informative pamphlets.
