An overhead ride that takes you from one side of the zoo to the other. You also get views of San Diego’s downtown and the cultural center of the city’s Balboa Park (around the dome and the steeple to the left.) There’s a Youtube version of the whole ride, but don’t expect its quality to match here.

Mount Baldy Road Revolution

Mount Baldy Road Revolution, originally uploaded by EmperorNorton47.

The peaks shrouded in fog are located in the Cucamonga Wilderness. You will also see the Mount Baldy Road but not Mount Baldy. Ontario Peak is the furtherest to the right, with Bighorn and Cucamonga Peak hidden in the fog. This late afternoon picture is evidence of the kind of pattern that we get during the June Gloom.

Only a few years ago, you could see snow on the top of these mountains at this time of year but that is very infrequent now.

This is the waterfall shown in the previous video. You get more sense of the chilly stream that flows from it.

You’ll see remains of a cabin, cedars, alders, a waterfall, the Ice House Canyon Trail, a rock slide, my wife Lynn, and my signature dog Drake.
